In Japan, it is common to receive a prescription after a hospital visit and then take that prescription to a pharmacy for medication dispensing. At BLEZ Pharmacy, we offer online medication guidance, providing a scheme where you can receive your medication without having to visit the pharmacy directly. Here, I would like to explain the specific procedure.

1.Hospital Visit

First, visit a hospital. It can be either an in-person or an online consultation. If you have concerns about the visit due to not speaking Japanese or other reasons, please consult with our pharmacy. We can assist you in making a hospital appointment.

2.Submitting the Prescription to the Pharmacy

Instead of submitting it in person, you can send the prescription to the pharmacy via fax or by sending a photo by LINE or any other way. When you receive the prescription at the hospital, inform them that you will be receiving online medication guidance and request that they fax the prescription to the pharmacy. Mostly, after requesting that, the hospital will be able to fax the prescription to us.

If the hospital cannot send it, you can take a photo of the entire prescription and send it yourself. When doing so, please ensure:

  • The entire prescription is captured without any parts cut off: Ensure no text is unreadable due to light reflection, and that the insurance information at the top and remarks section at the bottom are visible.
  • You photograph every page of the prescription: It is common to miss the second or subsequent pages.

Please pay attention to these points when taking the photo.

3.Contact the Pharmacy and Make a Reservation

After sending the prescription to the us, please contact us. Once we confirm receipt and ensure there are no issues, we will proceed to schedule your medication guidance. Note that some medications cannot be sent.

Or you can make a resavation directly from clicking this button.

4.Receive Medication Guidance

Just as you would receive medication guidance in person at the pharmacy, you will receive it online. If necessary, besides the pharmacist, our staff may join as interpreters.

5.Payment and Sending the Original Prescription

After completing the medication guidance, we will provide instructions for payment. You can pay by credit card. Please note that you will be responsible for the shipping costs.

You will also need to send the original prescription to the pharmacy by mail. Please purchase a “Letter Pack Light” at the nearest post office or convenience store and use it to send the prescription to our pharmacy. Please inform the pharmacy of the tracking number.

Some hospitals may send the prescription directly to the pharmacy, so please confirm this during step 2 when asking the hospital to fax the prescription.

6.Receiving the Medication

After you send us the tracking number, the pharmacy will ship your medication. We will also provide you with the tracking number, so please make sure to receive the package.

These are the steps for online medication guidance. Although it might seem a bit complicated when reading, using this service can reduce waiting times at the pharmacy. Additionally, we can handle prescriptions from any hospital across Japan and offer support in multiple languages, including English and Chinese. Please make full use of this service.
